While the word "symposium" originally referred to a drinking party (from the Greek verb "sympotein"), the word is more commonly used today to refer to an academic conference (with or without the drinking).

This Year's Geography Symposium will be On April 15.  During that day, students will present papers and posters based on their research in seminars and independent studies. All events are open to the public

On April 9th, Geography Students and Alumni will present recent research in papers and posters.
