the Geography Club webpage!

Welcome back!

We are pleased to welcome back students, new and returning, for the fall of 2008!

It promises to be an exciting semester in the Geography Department: 2
new faculty members, changing Gen. Ed. requirements, 3 senior seminar
courses, and much more.

Our first big event for the semester is to gather an team for
intermaural outdoor soccer. We will be registering as co-ed and we need
at least 7 players, though we'd love to have more! Its a chance to
gather with other majors and relax, kick around, and occasionally we
make it to the championship. If you are interested in joining the team

and faculty, play trivia games and enjoy some snacks! Sign up to bring goodies on the club bulletin board.

Tuesday, 9/15, 8pm: First Team Terra IM soccer game! Join us on IM field 2 for some fun!

Saturday, 9/20 1-3pm in Monroe 305: Department Open House for family weekend. Stop by for some tea, coffee, snacks, a slideshow about the department, a showing of student work, and a chance to mingle with professors and other geography majors!

Saturday, 10/4: Hike with Dr. Nicholas up Old Rag to explore some fantastic physical geography of the Blue Ridge Mountains!
